Spring Break in Sea Island, GA

It’s Real Easy to Get Spoiled at The Cloister

Southern Charm combined with a Five Star Resort five this is what you find in Sea Island. A vacation for couples, generational trips, family, and friends.

Spring break 2021, we packed up the family for a trip East to Sea Island. Sea Island has many wonderful accommodations, including The Cloister, The Beach Club, The Ocean Residences & Cottages, and The Lodge.

Our family of 5 checked into The Cloister into a Suite overlooking the hotel property. The Suites in the Cloister are some of the largest I’ve ever seen in a hotel. They are not only spacious, but they are also beautifully furnished and have an extra bathroom. We had a sofa bed, a King bed, and 1.5 baths. Our room overlooking the property gave us the feeling we were a member of the royal family watching our kingdom!

Sea Island is very easy to get around by bike, foot, or golf cart. We spent much time by the Beach Club pool, which is heated year-round. My kids also loved going to the beach to find shells and shark teeth. One of the best memories was surprising my daughter with a horseback riding trip one beautiful morning.

My son went with Dad to shoot air rifles one day, and this was a huge hit as well. The list goes on and on as far as what types of activities you can find, and no one will ever be bored at Sea Island! Golfing, tennis, spa, kid’s camps, something for everyone.

One evening we drove over to The Lodge for cocktails, and the best surprise was hearing the bagpipes as the sunset over the golf greens. Truly an experience we will never forget.

It’s worth mentioning the staff at Sea Island. At a resort with many guests, the team knew our name. They were kind to my children and laughed with us on the golf cart rides. They went out of their way to make us feel at home, and isn’t that what we all need on vacation?
