Inn By The Sea

Just outside of the bustling city of Portland, in the quaint town of Cape Elizabeth, Maine- sits a beautiful ocean retreat named the Inn By The Sea. This Virtuoso Property has 61 guest rooms, 1 or 2 bedroom suites w/ private exterior entrances, a sprawling lawn with games, a swimming pool with food and drink service. The best part is the shaded path leading you to Maine’s beautiful beaches, complete with chairs for hotel guests.

This summer, we took our family to Maine to enjoy the weather and check out the beautiful coast, complete with lighthouses. Right down the road from the Inn By Sea is a State Park home to the most photographed lighthouse in the country. A fantastic spot to take a picnic and enjoy the gorgeous summer day.

The hotel’s Sea Glass restaurant offered wonderful dining options and also had a kid’s menu. The staff was terrific, and the service was fantastic (especially during covid time, this is hard to find).

Our family of 5 had a 2 story loft room. This hotel room now is the benchmark for the type of space my crew needs! It had a kitchen, a sofa bed and 2 Queen beds upstairs. Also, a balcony to overlook the beautiful lawn.

This was a great vacation for unwinding and enjoying the scenery. We had beach walks, saw the lighthouses, ate some excellent food. There is also some fun excursion such as catching your lobster on a lobster boat for dinner!

Maine was all I had hoped it would be and the perfect escape from the Alabama summer heat!

My tip: book well in advance! The Inn By The Sea fills up fast, and rates are much lower a year out. The Virtuoso amenities that I offer are:

  • Upgrade on arrival, subject to availability
  • Daily full breakfast for two guests per bedroom in a restaurant (alcohol and gratuities not included, not to exceed $30 USD per person)
  • $100 USD equivalent Resort or Hotel credit to be utilized during stay (not combinable, not valid on room rate, no cash value if not redeemed in full)
  • Early check-in/late check-out, subject to availability
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi
