St. Barth

St. Barthelemy

St. Barthelemy

How does one describe St.Barthelemy in just a few paragraphs?  It’s pretty impossible, actually… the clear blue water, the narrow European roads, the designer shopping, and champagne-popping brunches….to name a few.

Landing in St. Barths is spectacular as the tiny island hopper descends upon Gustavia Harbor, the prime parking spot for sailboats.  St. Barthelemy is accessible by either a small plane or boat from St. Martin.  The runway is between two mountains and only planes (not jets) can land in St. Barths.  But this certainly doesn’t keep anyone away!

It’s hard not to feel fabulous stepping into resorts such as Cheval Blanc, Eden RocLe Sereno, Le Toiny, The Tropical & Le Guanahani. You see, the resort experience in St. Barthelemy is unlike any other place in the world.  A place that caters to the rich and famous in one of the most beautiful places in the world can set a very high bar!  I was hosted by a few of these fabulous places, which I will highlight below:

The Tropical:  Le Tropical just reopened and has been totally renovated.  I loved, loved this young, fun and hip spot. The decor is so beautiful, it was no surprise to see Le Poupette St Barth doing a fashion shoot here. Don’t forget to have brunch here or stop by for one of their DJ nights!  My favorite rooms were the pool view and ocean views rooms

Le Toiny: Le Toiny is set away from other parts of the island and offers an amazing set up for families or couples who crave privacy.  The staff is extremely friendly and the food was wonderful.  Their beach club is so gorgeous with a very attentive staff.

Cheval Blanc: The premiere resort of St. Barth’s. The minute I stepped into our suite I died and went to heaven.  Private plunge pool, and steps down to the ocean.  The rooms are pristine and the design is light and airy.  After dinner, we came back to the room and a warm candlelight bath was waiting with flowers.  I think my husband would have liked to have taken the credit for this romantic gesture, but I knew it was the sign of an amazing resort that pays attention to every little detail.

Villa Marie: Villa Marie feels like you are stepping into someone’s home.  Warm and friendly with breathtaking views.  The decor is boho chic and one thing I loved is that the bathroom in our suite had a private outdoor shower and tub.  Super tropical and fun! When you stay at Villa Marie you feel like family.

I recommend a rental car in St. Barth’s.  It’s a very safe island and so much fun to explore.  Just make sure you have a taxi when you leave Le Petit Plage or GypSea…you are guaranteed to have a few too many cocktails!
